Founded by Konstantin Ruchadze - (Mister Globetrotter himself - lived in Russia, Czechoslovakia,
Austria and Spain and already in The Netherlands for a long time) bass player, composer, arranger,
singer & leader of Hot Bolshevik. Worked together with the finest musicians like: Peter Wolf
- ex-Frank Zappa and today’s top producer in USA, Jan Akkerman and Hans and Candy Dulfer.

Hot Bolshevik has been known for almost 20 years and has developed into one of the most creative
forces in the contemporary music scene.

The music of Hot Bolshevik embraces the whole spectrum of vocal and instrumental virtuoso and 
yet it remains pure, natural, stylish and simple in its beauty, easily reaching  the ear of the
average listener. In its modernity it is a genuine and profound reflection of our times. In 
its openness and freedom of expression it doesn’t limit itself to the boundary of just one 
musical discipline.

Hot Bolshevik’s performance-trademark is the always pumping and cooking bassgroove by Konstantin,
providing him with a central spot on the stage. Along with his vocal performance he knows how 
to attract the  public-attention.

The main sources of the music you can expect are derived from  Jazz, World music, Classical 
music, Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Pop and Soul.

For their debut Cd ‘Post Cold War Groove’ they received an outstanding review in the American
Bass Player magazine ( August 1996 ).

Their second album - ‘Recover’  (live, June 2001),  received a very good critics in the main 
Dutch music magazine ‘Music Maker’.

Hot Bolshevik is now working on more projects to come: ‘Red, Orange & Blue’ and 
‘I Dream Tsintskaro’. Also they are in the final process of issuing their third album
 - ‘Amsterdamn Blues’, produced by   Harrie Muskee  - singer of the legendary Cuby & the Blizzards.

Hot Bolshevik performs  at the major Jazz  festivals, Pop festivals, Jazz clubs and Pop clubs 
in The Netherlands, as well as in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Russia and the Czech Republic.
Recently they performed at the Rhythm & Blues festival at the Carribean island of Curaçao.

Hot Bolshevik’s 2005 line-up is:


		Konstantin Ruchadze -  bass, lead & background vocals, guitar. 

		Maarten Helsloot - keyboards, background vocals. 
		Played with Abraham Laboriel, Chris Hinze, Bart Fermie, teacher
		at the jazz school in Arnhem, Holland. 

		Paul Bakker - guitar, background vocals. 
		Played on Bolshevik’s first Cd and worked with many top  
		Dutch musicians like: Cees van der Laarse, Leon Klaasse, Fred Leeflang,
		José Koning and Ruud Jansen. 

		Dennis ‘Bigfoot’ Breidel - drums. 
		Played with Jan Akkerman, Candy Dulfer,
		Luther Allison, Slide Hampton, George Coleman and Art Taylor.
